| RESIDENTIAL MAINTENANCE WORKER |
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Minor Repair of Facility Infrastructure and Appliances and reporting of major repairs required.
- Installation and Removal of Appliances.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks e.g. changing light bulbs, replacing fire alarm batteries etc.
- Facility Preparation for season/weather changes
- Assist House Managers and Office Staff in arranged Donation Pickups to shelters and office.
- Assist in Transportation of supplies to and from shelters.
- Attend weekly House Staff meetings to discuss facility maintenance.
- Assist in supplies purchasing.
- Responsible for shelter cleaning. Ability to keep premises clean and functional.
- Keeping a lookout for fire safety.
- Assist the House Manager with any other specific projects as needed basis.

Qualifications:
- Flexible Schedule 30hrs a week (Non-Exempt).
- Good organizational skills/telephone manner in order to interact with contractors etc.
- Standard maintenance (domestic & commercial appliances): ability to do minor electrical, plumbing repairs.
- Ability to do minor lifting and loading.
- Bilingual in one or more Asian Languages preferred.
- Some computer skills required esp. MS Word and Internet applications.
- High school diploma preferred.
- Ability to drive and possession of a vehicle that could occasionally be used to transport goods would be a huge plus.

FAMILY ART THERAPIST
|
Responsibilities
- Coordinate therapeutic art treatment / Social services for Asian domestic violence victims
- Develope and implement art based counseling programs and workshops
- Arrange and participate in Art Therapy session for domestic violence victims
- Assist domestic violence victims with art project

Qualifications:
- Must be flexible with schedule, some evening and weekend hours required
- M.A. in Art Therapy
- Registered art therapist (ATR) or ATR – BC certified

DIRECTOR OF SHELTER OPERATIONS
|
Responsibilities:
Primary Function of Position:
- Responsible for management of shelter operations: Planning, coordinating, and overseeing the program's and facilities' compliance with applicable governmental regulations, internal policies and procedures. Oversee all facets, phases and components of the Residential Domestic Violence Program. Plan, organize and evaluate residential services while supervising personnel in day-to-day activities.
- Budget, Regulatory and Funder Relationship : Ensure compliance of services with applicable regulations and licensure standards. Liaison with the residential coalition/ committee, HRA, OCFS as well as community organizations. Handle additional activities including; prepare program reports and billings.
- Strategic Planning: Conduct policy development, long range planning effects staffing, workload, processes and organizational structure.
- Other projects and duties as assigned by Executive Director.
Additional Responsibilities :
- Attend all necessary external and internal meetings.
- Hire and orient/train new staff as needed basis.

Qualifications:
- Masters Degree required.
- Preferred experience in social services, preferably working in a shelter operation a plus.
- Needs excellent crisis management skills.
- Able to speak one Asian language a plus.
- Able to work in a team setting.
- Excellent communication skills are a must.
- Computer literacy essential.

HOTLINE SPECIALIST (PART TIME)
|
Responsibilities:
- Answer and screen hotline calls for potential domestic violence and/or human trafficking issues.
- Assess hotline caller’s safety and immediate needs, including requests for shelter.
- Provide appropriate information, referrals, and phone support as necessary.
- Advocate for callers with other legal/social/health service providers.
- Document all calls on a computer spreadsheet in order to complete statistical reports.
- Work as a team with all NYAWC staff.
- Provide office coverage and emergency back-up for hotline on a rotational basis in coordination with other staff
- Represent NYAWC in outreach/community education events
- Various projects/tasks that arise depending on needs of the program
- All duties assigned by the Executive Director

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma and equivalent experience.
- Bilingual English and at least one Chinese language (Chinese Mandarin/Cantonese highly desirable).
- Experience in the area of violence against women and/or in the Asian community, as well as experience in telephone counseling preferred.
- Ability to be self-directing and highly motivated.
- Ability to work well with others
- Flexible hours required.

CHILDREN'S COULSELOR
|
Responsibilities:
- Maintain caseload of shelter and non-shelter counseling cases, providing individual, group, family, and parenting counseling.
- Provide in-person advocacy and case management services to child clients.
- Supervise weekly structural activities and special events.
- Mentor Program coordination, involvement in: recruitment, training of mentors, attendance, site visits, recognition gifts.
- Work collaboratively with Children’s Program staff to create welcoming and friendly environments for clients.
- Monitor the condition of counseling rooms, Children’s Program files, donations, and supplies.
- Prepare case notes, program reports and statistical reports as needed.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Experience in supervising interns and volunteers.
- Any tasks as assigned by Executive Director

Qualifications:
- Must be flexible with schedule, some evening and weekend hours required
- M.S.W. or registered art therapist (ATR) preferred
- Counseling experience, working with children and/or women in areas of: violence against women; child abuse; Asian community
- Bi-lingual in an Asian language, preferably Cantonese, Mandarin, or South Asian languages

SUPERVISORY COULSELOR |
Responsibilities:
- Assist victims of domestic violence:
- Conduct intake, assessment, and crisis intervention services;
- Provide ongoing empowerment counseling;
- Explain options and rights, including emergency shelter, provide referrals, and support clients in their choices;
- Advocate for and accompany women to seek criminal and civil legal assistance, when appropriate.
- Supervise counseling and case management staff as assigned:
- Provide clinical supervision
- Assist in day-to-day task supervision
- Provide emergency consultation to staff in crisis cases
- Hire and train supervisees, and take disciplinary actions whenever necessary
- Provide weekly clinical supervision to interns in M.S.W program
- Prepare case notes and program notes as needed.
